hello ppl i have a problem and I’m a little confused
ok i used to have a 89 civic and that car got totaled so i went out to search for another shell so i found a 91 civic with a blown engine so what i did was swap the engines because they are the same size and everything so everything has gone well until now that the heat has picked up I’m trying to put the a/c compressor on and it wont bolt up the i have the bracket with the tentioner on the engine, the compressor belongs to the 91 car that i have now so everything hooks up just fine but the compressor wont bolt up, is there like different brakets or different compressors for the same car?

Per my parts suppliers website the compressors are the same for 1989 and 1991 for both the 1.5L and the 1.6L engines. What is not bolting up, the mounting bracket to the engine or the compressor to the mounting bracket?

Yes it is possible. Call up auto-zone, or 1800 radiator. they should be able to tell you.

yea the compressor to the bracket wasn’t bolting up so i went to the junk yard to see if i find if there is different ones and there was one that look nothing like the one that i had so i bought it it was just 5.50 and it worked the one i had looked like a big chunk of steel and the other looks more like a frame with the center missing but I’m guessing is to reduce weight so i guess there is more than one bracket for your ac

both of the brackets work on the engine just not for the compressor they have different bolt pattern for the compressor and i know i don’t have the wrong year bracket for my car because i saw the same bracket on another 91 civic
