Chevrolet vitara 98 JX / SUZUKI SIDEKICK 98 JX. 5 DOOR transmission stick issue

Hi to all of you.

i’m creating this post about a problem that happened to my car.

the stick of transmission stuck on any gear when is hot.or in neutral cant shift to any gear.
when i tried a lot of time shift hard to second or first and accelerate and the stick goes normal and i can shift normally. about 3000 rpm. the clutch is ok. its not worm.

i cant be in heavy traffic because if i shift to neutral i will be stopped. also there’s a warm in my right knee coming from the transmission. so i checked internet and see alot of forums. to find the problem of my car.

two things catch my attention.

one theres two pieces below the stick to keep together the gear and dont pull out when driving. theres a high rate of failure on these.

and second to check the oil transmission on my car.

i went to the mechanic and checked that aproximately one liter of oil missing to the transmission. and thats why its getting hotter. they filled it and checked that everything goes back to normal. but after a while the stick presented the problem again.

so the mechanic checked the shifter and replaced the plastic pieces with new ones. and voila everything is right again . i conduct a test on heavy traffic and everything was normal again. the mechanic show me the used pieces from the shifter and the 28117 – 60a00 presented some wear but the smal i saw it brand new.

theres no need to replace clutch cable o clutch. or any gear in the transmission box.

well. this is my history to enrich the forum and help others if they have the same sympton with the same model of my car.
