So I recently bought a newer car and I was wondering if there’s any way other than physically going to the dealer to find out if there’s any outstanding recalls on my particular car?

No it’s not a GM built in the last 10 years, if it was I would just drop it off and tell them to do the recalls. 😛

The only thing I can suggest would be to Google Your year, make, model, recalls. 🙂

Here’s how you can check based on year, mfg, and model. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchSafetyIssues

Some recalls might not apply to an entire year run though so if there is one on that page call the dealer and give them the last 8 digits of the VIN.

The only thing I can tell you as a Nissan Tech is that yes we can put Nissan only Vin# into our system and get any done and undone recalls pertaining to it.Possibly you can go to NHTS website and get a list for your vehicle. 🙂

              You can check here http://www.recalls.gov/nhtsa.html

There is also something less than a recall that requires repair. Technical Service Bulletin’s describe problems and repair solutions devised by the manufacturer that are not safety risks or bad enough to warrant recall. http://www.autopedia.com/html/NHTSAtsb.html
