I have a 1995 2.2L cavalier.I have a check engine light I notice that when going down the road and let off the gas the car wouldn’t stall but it bog down like when down shifting on a manual transmission when I let go of the gas then hit the gas again the bog down feeling would stop I think I’m describing this right the check engine light don’t come on all the time and it still has these symptoms I know I can’t take it to autozone to have them read the codes they don’t scan cars before 1995 and I don’t want to take it to shop and pay alot of money to find out what codes are but I guess I will have to

Assuming you click “reply” rather than quick reply there is an attachments box below, where you click “add file”, browse to the picture once you have it on your computer (you need to copy it to the actual PC in most cases first), then it should show if it’s under a certain size. You can edit one of your existing posts to attach it later if you feel you still need to.

Really for pics I’d use a free image hosting service so people can actually see what’s in it, otherwise you’re likely going to need to edit it first to reduce the resolution/size yourself manually. With free image hosting sites like imageshack and others they’ll give you the forum code to just paste in to show your image.

In any case I wouldn’t even bother just yet and do what jlenegan already suggested for a test, and likely cause to your woes.
Based on the symptoms I’m willing to bet you got a sticky TCC solenoid. The transmissions in these cars are notorious for it. The t/c clutch stays applied, causing the car to bog down. Try finding the connector for the tcc soleoid, unplug it and take it for a spin.
Just to throw it out… 1995 was a weird year for this… I believe you have an OBD I with an OBD II DTC…. For this year, GM made an adaptor to use an OBD 1 scanner on it…

                          I don’t think this one is jumpable…

So I guess I need to either buy a scanner or take it to a mechanic they charge to much to run the codes

Might try this Adapter and see if someone will lend you a gm odb1 scanner.
