I just ordered this on amazon, for 20 bucks, I don’t think you can beat it with a stick, or baseball bat for that matter..

As a DIY guy, I don’t need the uber-scanner, so I figured I will give this a shot.

Anyone have it? how good is it?

I’ll let you know my findings when I toss it on my cars and my family’s, which actually is a decent cross section.

I have been using that scanner for about a year. I saw many negative feed back on the Amazon but I did not experience any of the problem that people are complaining about. So far I was able to use and pull the code from Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Kia between 99 – 2004. Not a single issue, best $20 I ever spent.

Had something similar for a few months until I decided a code reader like that was not for me and sold it and bought a good scanner for less than $300. that will do so much more than what that does. I wanted something that I could have bi directional control of the vehicle for testing, not just be able to reset codes.

I purchased an ELM327 clone. Not very expensive but requires a laptop. Will do real time data but not freeze frame.

I have one similar to that, but it likewise has no realtime.
It is a useful tool however, as you can pull codes, kill the MIL, and blank the codes. Pulling the codes was the reason I got it.. Realtime, well that can wait..
