1997 Honda Accord LX 2.2l 4cyl SOHC 158k.
While i was replacing my head gasket or while it was sitting in my garage for about a month, i decided to fully take apart my lower dashboard to discover that the previous owner installed an after market security system (i assume) i don’t think this year came stock with one, the Special Edition did but tot my knowledge this one is not a special edition.
I was doing some research and have been told that is something is wrong with the setup of these security systems it can cause a car not to start.
Now i don’t know if this thing was active or not, there were some wires not atttached and the fuse was blown. If i replace the fuse and see if the wires are all correct, could this basically fix my no start at some points.
My car will something crank but not start before the head gasket blew out, i assumed it was do to oil leakage in through the lower seals, but then i found this out and found it might be this.I’m trying to find out where i can get a remote for this security system to check if it works or not, but from what i’ve found, i guess chapman auto security systems doesn’t exist anymore? Any ideas on what i could do?
