cat issues

About 2 or so years ago i replaced a cat on my wifes blazer. I used a universal from napa which was the right one for my car. Well a year after replacement it was bad again making all kinds of weird noised and massive loss of power. So I figured it may have been a bad unit. I replaced that one with a universal cat from advanced. Go figure a year or so later it is bad again. I cant blame it on the cat i believe something is causing them to go but i can not find the source. Any advice is appreciated!

Are they clogging or melting or both? If so I would suggest you have
a misfire that is putting unburned fuel in the cat and damaging it.
