      Ford 400, with a Motorcraft 2 barrel attached. Idles fine, but when shifted into gear, it dies instantly. Besides vacuum leaks, which I cannot find, what else would cause this? Thanks in advance for any advice or help.

        A couple of things, one could be the idle is too low and the other is the timing may be slightly off.
