car wont drive faster then 20 miles perhour

Hi my name is Paul i have a 1999 Acura TL 3.2 the car starts up good but it will not go in reverse and when you drive the car it will go 20 miles a hour and will not move to the next gear it just will rev up and not allow me to go faster i have tried change the speed control censer i bought off rock auto and it is still not wanting to go in reverse or drive faster then 20 miles per hour what should i do next

You need a scanner that can read TCM codes. Many options are available; I recommend the Launch CRP123.

If your vehicle isn’t shifting there’s a very good chance you will have a CEL (check engine light) stored. Stop by your local auto parts store and have them check for any stored codes.
