car stalls and stops

hello. my 1995 jeep grand cherokee larado 5.2 v8 has a rough idle and wants to and sometimes stops when I stop at lights and stop signs. what if any can I do. and engine light stays on.

2 cans of Seafom per tankful, 2 tankfuls. You have fuel supply issue, anywhere from fuel pump to fuel injectors, with anything inbetween. So major cleanup is needed.
But CM is absolutely right – CODES!!

OK CM,I did the code retrieval and got codes 52,51,41,and 32. ETCG member “ukrkoz” says 2 cans of seafoam per tankful and 2tankfuls shoul help so i’ll get to it to Thanks ukrkoz.

No, you need to look up what those codes are for and start from there.

41 – An open or shorted condition in the generator field control circuit.
51 – A lean air/fuel mixture has been indicated by an abnormally rich correction factor. (O2 sensor)
52 – A rich air/fuel mixture has been indicated by an abnormally rich correction factor. (O2 sensor)
32 – An open or shorted condition detected in the EGR solenoid circuit. Possible air/fuel ratio imbalance not detected during diagnosis.

Out of all, #32 can quite possibly cause stalls. 1st thing to do is to remove EGR and clean it with carb cleaner.
As of 51 and 52 I simply do not understand, how you can have BOTH lean and rich condition. But it’s Jeep, who knows.
41 says you have alternator issue.
Seafoam by itself won’t clean EGR. Well, maybe some.
But fuel conditions quite possibly may be cured by EGr cleaning.

I’d have to agree that looking at the EGR would be the starting point. If it’s malfunctioning, I could see getting rich and lean codes due to the amount of extra air entering the system when it’s not supposed to, and the computer is adjusting for that, then sees a rich condition when the EGR isn’t affecting combustion as much.

Good chance the valve is sticking. Of course, the Generator code could have something to do with it, but I’d say it’s less likely a problem affecting idle quality if the vehicle starts and drives and doesn’t die due to a run down battery.
