01′ Echo, 188K miles, 4 cyl, 1500CC. If I accelerate gently or “normally” the car accelerates fairly decently, about the same as always. Today I basically floored it to get through a yellow light (w/ a cop watching :whistle: ) but all it did was rev and I got no acceleration. Is this normal or an issue?

It depends on whether your car is an automatic or manual. If it’s a manual, your clutch is probably slipping. If it’s an automatic, then you may have a slip in your transmission. Mine does the same thing, but it does eventually catch and accelerate after about a second or two. If yours did not catch at all then you have a serious problem going on
