Car not cranking; no start. What to do?

Car: 2006 VW Jetta GLI 2.0T FSI MKV

I drove my car down to South Beach and back to Fort Lauderdale…about 40 miles each way. I’m a Postmates courier, so I was doing that for the past 6 hours.

On my way home, I stop off at Walmart to pick up some oil because I had gotten the low engine oil notification while I was down in Miami. I get back to my car. Guess what. No crank. No start. WTF? FML.

So, what do you think? What should I do? What could it be?

Ft Lauderdale sounds nice! It’s not so bad breaking down there ya know you can just hit the beach until AAA gets there.

I may be too late on this but two things to check, the starter and the Neutral Safety Switch. if you can find the starter give it a whack with a breaker bar and then try and start the vehicle. If that doesn’t work check to make sure the vehicle thinks it is in park.

Did you put the oil in?
There may be a Low Oil Shutdown Safety that may need to be reset.

Yup, I put the oil in. I had my dad try to jump start my car. No luck. Had it towed to the dealer. It’s been about six hours and they just told me that they are still trying to figure out why it won’t start. I should’ve probably asked, but I was wondering what they would’ve checked in these past six hours, just so I could know what to rule out.
