What might be wrong with my car?I have a 1989 Volvo 4 cylinder car. One day I was on the freeway and I was going 60 and it seemed normal but suddenly the rpms jolted from 2 where I always seen it been to 3.5 rpms then it started making this sound like a leaf blower when I accelerate more and more this sound seems to come from the engine.. Help?
The day the rpms jolted up I got home by car was leaking some oil don’t know if it was Trans but I had done the change a month before. I degreased the car and it doesn’t leak anymore but couldn’t find where it leaked from.

If you get the car on jack stands and put in gear using a helper, you may be able to pinpoint the noise.
