Please Help! I have a 92 honda civic, d15b7. I had an issue with one of my cylinders, there was no compression in cylinder 2. I did couple checks and I came to conclusion that it was the valves. So I opened the head, I changed the 2 exhaust valves, they were in a bad condition, so it was prb the reason why there was no compression. So I changed the valves, and also I had to take off the timing belt. Than when I was putting everything back, I put the timing belt, i aligned it to all the marks, than I put the rocker assembly back, and I did valve adjustment. After I finished everything, I tried to start the car, but it would not start. 🙁 And there is still no compression in 2nd cylinder. I check the spark plugs, there is spark, fuel injectors are fine also. I’m not sure what can be the problem. Any suggestions?
      Thank You

did you machine the valve seats to match the new valves ? if not the new valves will not seat properly and will leak. for the no start I would recheck the timing belt installation. I would also do a complete valve job to make sure the head is in good shape.

yes i did machine the valve seats, i did couple times, and i checked if it was seating properly. Ok so i decided to take the timing cover off and see if all the marks are matching, and when i put the engine to TDC the camshaft is not matching, so i know the problem. But im not sure why its off, when i aligned everything, i spun the engine couple times and checked if it was aligned and it was, but after i tried starting the car, the timing belt went of. Not sure why it did that, but i will align it again and try starting the car, and see if it will work.

if you line up all timing marks up then turn the engine over by HAND a few times and then line up the cam pulley mark and see if the crank timing mark is still lining up. never try run engine if your not 100% happy or to test it as this could be the end to your engine. if they dont match up after you have turned it over a few time id look at 1 you are using the marks on the pulleys not belt 2 if its a new belt its the same size 3 your cambelt tensioner is ok and doing its job. if you need any pics of where to find timing marks drop me a pm

also check it has the right tension on the belt to lose and the belt could of jumped a few teeth

ok i so i took of the timing belt again, aligned everything right, doubled checked the valves, they were good. The car starts but there is still no compression in cylinder 2, it only works on 3 cylinders, it works the same like before when i started working on it, so i guess the problem was not valves. What could it be?

Burnt valve, broken valve, valve not seating, hole in piston, broken valve spring
