Car bogs down when accelerating rapidly.

my 00 solara bogs down when accelerating. does not do it if accelerate slowly but shuts down if done rapidly. code is P0106, P0172, P1130, P0420. thought that MAP was bad. replaced a cracked hose between it and intake manifold but it ran even worse. suggestions anyone? Thank you

I WOULD CHECK FOR A VACUM LEAK AND TO SEE IF THE AIR FLOW TUBE IS CONNECTED and I would CHECK AROUND THE EGR AND MAKE sure that it is not leaking vacuum one of the codes was egr excessive air flow so I would check there first.

Test your catalytic converter. It may be partially plugged.
And of course vacuum leaks.

Also, test your up and downstream O2 sensors.

I just remembered something ….

I once replaced a sticky PCV valve – even though the car ran fine, I replaced it.
The car ran rough for a drive cycle or two and then cleared up.

I just had a similar problem with an O2 sensor – it uncovered the real problem in that case – bad spark plug wire in that case.

Sometimes, the computer adjusts for a bad component and when a new one is in, the car runs badly for a drive cycle or so – or uncovers the real problem.

If that’s not the case, then start diagnosing it – get data as Eric stresses in just about every video he makes.
