So i bought a car and it has an aftermarket head unit but not all of the wires on the harness are attached to something so idk if the amp is acutally being used but my new speakers are popping at mid to high volume and i cant figure out why please help!!!

Did you match the color of wires up while installing or did you use a wire diagram?

Sounds like you need to reverse the polarity.

Need more info to be able to help you on that.
What colour wires are not connected?
Do you have a Sub?

A quick and dirty way to see if the amp is powering the speakers, is to disconect the amp, and if you have no sound, then you know that the amp is connected. How it is connected is anybody’s guess without pics or more info.
