Since you can hose down the windshield and the vents under the windshield wipers with the cabin ventilation fan on and set to ‘outside air’, yet no water appears on the carpet in the cabin.
How does water not get sucked into the cabin air intake when it’s raining hard/hose?

      Thanks

The HVAC fresh air mode door sits on top on the body cowl. The door is covered by cowl assembly. There a vent on one side to supply air to the fresh air door. When it rain, water will drain down a drain tube. Think of the cowl body made into a Y. This drain tube can get plug with debris and start to overflow the cowl body to rise up and into the HVAC box. Then down to your carpet. The video may explain more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2qC2jRbA-o

Thanks for the help. I’m still kind of confused how the water diverts to a tube instead of into the cabin. I’d understand if the air intake is like a clothes dryer heat exhaust port, where it is mostly sheltered from the water if air is being sucked in.
