Hey boys! I found a car for my mom, an ’09 corolla S. I have an XRS and love it. Anyways, I have been informed that the car has had a front end colision, and the price is set fairly with that being said, but is there anything in particular I should check out when test driving the car due to the fact it’s been in an accident?
Some info:
It was front end damage – 9,000$

i know here when i look for a used car i search the vin online because alot of the time if it was auctioned off by the insurance company do to body damage of some sort. The auction site will have pictures of the cars still damaged before the dealers repaired it. This will give you a better idea how extensive the damage was.
But definitely look at the radiator support, inner fenders, the front side of the engine, motor mounts, and all the hard lines in the engine bay. Also check for uneven tire wear. Just take your time and be thorough.
Also while driving see if the wheel pulls to one side and listen for excessive suspension noise.
If it was fixed by Toyota you’d hope it’d be indistinguishable from a new car. At least that is the standard according to the insurance companies. Most newer cars are declared total losses and not repaired (by insurance/dealerships/shops at least) after an accident, so if it doesn’t have a salvage title the damage must have been very, very minimal.
