Hello,
I am looking to buy a 2000 Mustang Gt with around 70K miles. The previous owner installed cobra hood and wheels on it. I have a couple of concerns. First, The engine block is covered with oil/gasoline stains. Now from previous experience with my car and cars that I flip, oil/gasoline stains on engine could mean previous leaks from hoses or even a previous head gasket problem. I know from the fact that I had vapor leak before in one of my cars, which left same stains that I see on the Mustang`s engine block. Also, My other Toyota 96 4runner used to leak, so it had same stains. Correct me if I am wrong. Should I worry about the mustang engine bar being dirty and full of oil stain.
My second biggest concern is the weird “Shaking” noise the aftermarket exhaust makes when accelerating. Now I been in many v8s with exhaust shaking sound like this mustang. But does that say that the exhaust was not installed properly? or need to be mounted right?
What other suggestion for inspecting the car? specially engine and transmission wise?
Thanks for helping who ever you are
