So I have been battling this wind noise in my drivers side window, near the b-pillar, half way up, for the LONGEST time.
New window channel rubber, the old was was all cut up and RTV’ed everywhere from the PO.
Well guess what?
I inspected the area throughout and found that the door had quite the sizable ding done to it right on the b-pillar.
I can see, also, that where it was ding’ed it was repainted in black. This is under the rubber / trim so it is hardly noticeable.
However the whole b-pillar is bent. This causes the window to:
When it pushes all the way up and closes,
It will go outwards (away from car) at the bottom, this is because of a cheap aftermarket window regulator,
That will cause the window glass to pull away from the rubber only at the spot where the door was dented inwards.
And this causes a wind noise right next to my ear when driving over 45 mph.My question to you guys: is it possible to fix this damage? The whole b-pillar is bent, this also causes the trim to not fit quite right and the door to vibrate when I open it (unlike all the other doors, which open perfectly) How would I fix it? Should I just go get a junkyard door?
