I have an 2009 Buick Lucerne. Latest electrical problem this weekend. Drove about 15 miles to meet my daughter at her work, no problems. Shut the car off to wait for her to get out of work. Started car & the battery light came on & got a service charging system message. Drove home waiting for the headlights to dim but never did. Voltage at under hood terminal was over 15 Volts. I believe this has a 2 level, can’t remember the GM term, charging rate. Voltage dropped to 13.6 & the alternator sounded like the load changed. Went to look if the light & message went out but heard the alternator load down again & voltage back to 15.4. Light & message still on. Left it for the next day as it was after 11PM. Started car & no batt light-message. Voltage was 14.5 with about 50 amps at the alt wire. Checked for blown fuses, unplugged alt wiring a & traced the wires as far as I could. Have been driving car with no problems for a few days now. ???
