So my friend owns 1990 Buick Century, and for the past couple months the transmissions has been going crazy. When the car starts the trans shift just fine but after about 20 minutes of driving it becomes completely unable to downshift while slowing down. This is strange because if you slam on the gas in normal driving it shifts fine, it’s only when coming to a stop that it jerks around alot followed by a stall and a check engine light. Any advice is appreciated. Also interesting fact, my friends Buick is a very rare 2 door model.

Sounds like the torque converter lockup solenoid. You can unplug it and then drive the car to see if this issue goes away. If it does, then you will need to replace the solenoid.
