brake system

      Hey eric I want to know yesterday when i was driving my moms car (minivan) I had to take a hard turn to the left and when I did my brake light came on for a bout a second or two then went away what do you think could be wrong it only happens on sharp turns?

        I would start by checking the fluid level. When you turned hard the fluid might have all went to one side causing a low fluid level where the sensor is. Then when the fluid leveled back out the light went out. Easy fix if that is what happened.

          +1 low fluid level in the master cylinder will cause that very thing. The #1 cause of low fluid is worn front brake pads so you might also want to pull the front wheels to see if you need brake pads. Keep us posted.

            Hey Eric so the problem was that it was low on brake fluid I topped it off and its all good now

              Did you check your pads? As Eric stated, the pads being worn down are a likely cause of your low fluid condition.

                Like mentioned the fluid level will drop as the pads wear. So if you go to replace the pads and just push the caliper piston back in you can make a mess of the fluid if there is too much in the master cylinder. Lot of times the fluid level is a very good indicator of pad wear.

                  I would give the pads a look. see how close the pads
                  are to the squeal/wear indicator.
