I found this link to a video that shows how to correctly lubricate disc brake components to prevent premature pad wear.
This video is about specific Ford brake problems but like myself I apply this to all brakes of this configuration on every make and model. It doesn’t show lubing the guide pins with silicone paste but I think most already know about this as well as where the pads contact the bracket.
