Hi,
I have 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe, FWD. In the past month, there have been a few instances where I’m driving 60 km/h to 100 km/h and all the sudden there is a loud rumbling and shaking coming from the right rear. After stopping I can feel the rear right brake rotor is scorching hot, while the other 3 rotors are warm or cool. Then when I start to drive again, the rumbling sound and shaking is gone.
I figured I had seized brakes, so I took off all 4 wheels, lubricated the caliper slide pins and put anti-seize on the brake pad ears as shown in ETCG video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKpmBvfVYZg
With the wheel off, inspecting the rear right I didn’t see anything obvious. When turning the rotor by hand, the resistance on the rear right was the same as the rear left. With the rotor off, the wheel hub/bearing spun fine I think.Ok, so I thought I fixed it (yesterday). But after driving today, the same rear right rotor was hot again while the other 3 cool. No rumbling or shaking this time.
Any ideas on what could cause the issue?
