I just changed the front drivers side wheel bearing in my 2010 dodge journey 3.5 ltr and now the brake pedal vibrates when I stop from higher speeds.
The front pads and rotors were changed about 2 months ago so I don’t think it is them.
The pulsation is only in the pedal not the wheel.
Could I have messed something up when I put the new bearing on?
Everything seemed to go back together alright.

Perhaps something to do with the ABS.

Some additional information I should have mentioned.
The bearing and hub are all one piece. I just watched Eric’s fif video where he changed the bearing…
I did not clean the bore where the hub fits in with sand paper or a wire brush. I just blew all the loose dirt away with an air wand.
Would that cause it to not seat properly?
I also did not torque the axel nut, I just put it on as tight as I could get it with a ratchet.

This, sometimes with ABS the sensor in the wheel bearing assembly can be slightly damaged or the toothed ring cracked, this can cause a rapid pulsation in the pedal just before a stop when breaking without tripping any lights on the dash. it will cause the sensor to fail in such a way it simply sends a difference in voltage for that wheel to the computer causing the system to think that wheel has slipped, engaging the ABS.

My grandfathers truck is currently doing this, it’s pedal pulses just before a stop, but my grandfather doesn’t care because the truck still drives just fine, it’s more of an annoyance than a danger to him i guess.

It might very well be that the brake rotor bedded in with a slightly warped wheel hub on the old bearing, and after replacing the hub/bearing, it needs to readjust to its new situation. If that’s the case, the vibration should go away by itself after some more driving.
