Ok, just watched video of how to replace caliper cause it’s sticking. My question is, wouldn’t it be cheaper to replace brake hose first than caliper? Especially if brake hose is collapsing, of course you wont know until you replace one or the other, right?

Well ezaelectric-your logic is sound. Yet caliper failures outnumber collapsed brake hoses by a lot. I have seen either/or be a cause and I have seen both as a combination problem. It is one of those “gamble” situations to be sure. However some time way back when I DID see a kit that allowed you to read the pressures of the front brake hoses with gauges and adapters. A nice tool yet I passes on it because of cost and other factors. It would be definitive!

If the caliper is sticking. brake hose replacement won’t
fix it. Just do them both.

With the car safely jacked up,(if checking front wheel on front wheel drive place in neutral) and the wheel removed, try rotating the rotor. open the bleeder valve on the caliper. If the rotor now rotates, the brake hose is at fault, if not, replace the caliper.
