Have had this 08 yaris since 2014. I replaced my oem cylinder with a dorman in early 2015. I believed the cylinder had an internal seal leak which was not the case. That dorman one failed after about a year a bit because of a minor leak at the back. I put the original back on, and then after checking the level frequently found it was falling a little too after a while, not much though. I’d wedge a bar all the way down to the pedal to see if it is leaking, and let it go after a while. Replaced it with an aftermarket centric that had also failed after a week and half. I siphoned out about a cup of brake fluid out of the booster, and cleaned it all with brake cleaner, and a compressor, and put the original cylinder back on.
There are no line leaks or anything, and last time I cleaned the cylinder to check for leaks at the rear seal after 4 days it was dry, so I’m assuming this was just from the left over fluid.
I usually overfill my reservoir since its small, about an inch above the max line but i noticed the fluid level goes down when I leave it out and its cold, and back up when I drive it, especially hard. The weather has dropped a lot here. Could this be thermal expansion? Pad wear? The difference is about 30ml
