I was working on a new Infiniti today and noticed that the caliper top slide pin was a bolt, but the bottom slide pin was an Allen bolt with a rubber nipple over it….and ideas as to why the two different bolts?

They are different just to make a mechanics/technicians life more difficult.
I have seen this on a lot of cars and no one has ever had a good answer for me, even the mfg couldn’t tell me why.

To save on time when removing parts. The bottom one is an Allen holding the lower pin in place then you lift the caliper upwards and slide it to the left or right to remove it instead of having to remove both bolts
