      hello fine internet folk,

      On my ’00 Subaru Legacy, the rear passenger side calliper keeps seizing. By which I mean, it was seized a year ago so I replaced it, (and new hoses on all 4 calipers) when I did a brake overhaul, and now a year and 10,000 miles later, the caliber is seized again to the point that it’s darn near grounded my pad into nothingness. Changed pads today, lubed up the slide pins, and put it back together, still sticking so I don’t think it was the pins…

      But it’s only the rear passenger side. Never had any issues with the other three. Is there something about that side that’s cursed or is there something else I should be looking at? Or is it just that I’m unlucky and the caliper happens to be defective too?

        You have to determine whether it is the caliper piston that sticks or the entire caliper that is sticking.
        Did you replace the caliper AND the caliper bracket–or just the caliper?
        Can you easily push the piston back in when replacing the rear pads ?

        You said that the brake pad was ground down–not pads.
        Is it the inner pad that wore down, while the outer pad was OK?
        When you lubricated the caliper pins what is the name of the lubricant you used?
        Did you remove, clean and lubricate the metal sleeves that the caliper pins thread into, not just the pins that you unscrewed?
        Are the dust boots for the sleeves torn or otherwise damaged?
        Are the metal sleeves pitted or rusted?
        Do the sleeves slide freely inside the bracket?

          Take the caliper piston out and see if it is problem with moisture (rust) or contamination of brake fluid.

            yep sounds like you cud do with popping the pistons out and clean them or even bite the bullet and buy a caliper rebuild kit . may sound strange but i like to sit in front for the tv cleaning out the gaps the caliper seals go in and rebuilding them . wife dont like it tho lol
