I just ‘finished’ putting a bumper/grill guard onto my truck.

      As seen here …

However the bracket had a slot to where you would spin off a nut on the ‘tube’ (I have no clue what it’s called) that runs into the bumper. As I was working it free I could hear what sounded like rubber spinning in the hole as well. This tube runs up to the bumper and is connected by four nuts and bolts.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v377/ASD_Sidus/null.jpg The bracket that is supposed to slot under the bolt is pictured here along with the bolt.

Like I said when I spin the bolt I can hear what sounds like rubber turning inside the hole the bolt goes into. I didn’t try prying it out because I wasn’t sure if that was the thing to do. So is there any way to get this bolt out?

You likely have a through bolt that goes into a rubber bushing, like on control arm. This may explain “rubber” noise when spun. You need to scope the hidden bolt end to find out, if there is a nut that needs to be backed to release the bolt. Many suspension parts have rubber bushings as it all moves driving. Dampening.

Yea, sounds like you need to do an exploratory to see what the issue is. Likely it’s part of a fastener that isn’t secure.

Good luck and keep us posted.
