      I recently just bought a 1998 bmw 328is and it always starts first try on a cold start but once Its warmed up it takes a couple of tries to start. What can it be ?

            You need to check for what’s happening during the time the hard start occurs. Start with any check engine light codes you might have. If you don’t have any, see if you can get your hands on a scan tool that has live data capability. With it, you can check the rpms as well as the coolant temp. Coolant temp sensors are often responsible for conditions like yours. That’s not to say that you should just go ahead and replace it. You should verify that it is the problem first. It could also be a wiring or connector problem. Not to mention, another fault entirely. More information on solving issues like this can be found here.
