What was done that you are bleeding the system?
September 9, 2016 at 5:48 pm #867775you probly have a clog somewhere.. or you have air bubbles… ya what have you done so far??
September 9, 2016 at 6:14 pm #867779I took the two top plenums off to get to pcv valve. And changed front thermostat. Drained radiator and put new fluid in half and half .started to overheat while driving looked on your site and then took thrmostat out and checked it in hot water opens at about 190 to 200 degrees put back in no leaks. Bleeding system got a lot of air out with just heater on no blower let run for awhile 1/2 hour just boil up into vunnel just boiling. Reved engine for a few minuites. Still boiling goes down. Put more antfreese in just boils then car starts to overheat no heat from. Heater after putting on blower. Squeezed hoses. Alot. Just wanted to change pcv valve. It was junk because of using alot of oil and would lose power on a long trip. And sometimes stall at stop lights when it did this would have to pull over and wait 10 minutes themn would be good for awhile only did it on long trip but my main concern is the overheating so my wife can get to work only 10 minutes away but cant even go couple miles without. Overheating Thanks for your help. John Shaver. 2004 nissan pathfinder
September 9, 2016 at 6:26 pm #867781I would check for head gasket leaks and see if that is it….. I uselly do it with the heater all the way up and blower motor on high when I bleed it… I dont know why Eric only turns the heater on with the blower off… it might not open the heater core that way…. so I always do it with the heater blower full bast and full heat… might take a little bit longer but if your not watching the temp and it spikes you can damage your car… with the heater going full blast at least you have some cooling untill you see the netal can can turn off the car….
you also might have a clog in the system toowith the resavar are you noticing the coolent rise when the car is getting hot when your bleeding the system??
also check the water pump tooSeptember 9, 2016 at 7:42 pm #867789Every time I fill the radiator, I always open bleed valve to allow air to escape, then when fluid bleeds out- shut valve and continue to fill radiator. No problems with air in the system after that.
September 9, 2016 at 7:44 pm #867790Open your radiator bleeder valve on block to see if air or fluid comes out.
September 9, 2016 at 8:12 pm #867792I could not find bleeder screw so i put heater on high as you suggested and let run with cap off few mins and started gettin heat drove and does not over heat. So thank you very much for your advice and help. John Shaver. Life saver you are
