Hi Eric. I know you get this one alot. I have watched a lot of your videos on etcg1 about being a mechanic etc.. but they don’t really cover what im looking for. I want to be a mechanic, I have no interests in anything but cars. I do a lot of diy work on cars. The diy work i do on cars is pretty much on the same model car. Im looking for answers about working on cars such as:
Whats the hardest thing to do to a car. I know there is plenty of things you can run into that can make an easy job hard but whats the hardest thing you think to do on a car is or whats the biggest job you have done.
Whats the most common things you do in the workshop on a daily basis?
How frustrating can it get? or is it a job you can enjoy?
Also, whats it like working on different models of cars? Can changing an alternator be hard on one car and easy on the next? what models are the worst by your experience to work on?
Best ways of learning about cars? How did you get all your knowledge from cars?
I do things the hard way when doing diy. Is their tools to make jobs easier?
What other skills do you need? such as maths, science or whatever? Do you need to know how to weld? Do you need to know how to use all power tools or be good at computers?
Things like that. What did you do in your early stages? what tips can you give us? Im pretty keen on being a mechanic but dont know where to start. I must say i have learnt a lot from you but how much knowledge do i need to start being a mechanic?
Im pretty sure i have watched all your videos about being a mechanic but if you know of one that i have missed that might cover a couple of these questions could you let us know what it is?
I know i could get this answer online easy from other people but i want to hear it from you
Thanks in advance.
