Trying to maintain my humor on this one. Hopefully it can put a little smile on your face…..

      THE STORY

My mom brings her Acura up from Florida because she is having issues with it and does not want to buy a new car. So I take vacation time and she drives the car to my house in Ohio.

It is a mid 90’s Acura and is very good overall condition.

      So I get to work.

I replace the Thermostat because it does not heat up properly and is getting poor gas mileage.

I replace the radiator and cap, because the cap was in 3 pieces when I checked it and the radiator had a leak when under pressure.

She was getting a check engine light for EGR issue, no problem, I cleaned the EGR passageways (through the back of the engine). 5 hours later where there was no hole, there was now the proper sized hole and no more CEL!!

I replaced the passenger side CV axle. Boot was bad and it was clicking…

I replaced the two inner arms on the windshield wiper mechanism (they make the bad slap sound when the bushings go…)

I replaced the spark plugs and a gummed up PCV valve.

I repaired the armrest, which had lost two nuts that held it on…

I put in a new wheel lug stud (Had to pull the hub) LOL….

Finally, I replaced both sides inner and outer tie rods and the boots (boots are crazy priced at Acura!!!)

So, for $542 in parts and a $0 labor charge, I would say I got her car back in good order and been a good son….

      THEN IT HAPPENS!! 😛

No sooner than I was kicking back in a chair with an Arnold Palmer (Tea and Lemonade) and hadn’t even picked up my tools when mom started backing her Acura out of the driveway to go get a front end alignment. I look up to see her backing up alongside my wife’s new Honda and tearing a big scar down the front and rear passenger door of my wife’s car and scraping up the bumper on my mom’s Acura….. Arrrghhh

So much for all that money saved…

No good deed goes unpunished 😆

Man,that really sucks. I bet the Acura won the battle too.

Bummer, and it was an Acura scraping the Honda, like two feuding cousins. Of course, you know the old joke – what is the difference between an Acura and a Honda? About $10,000. 😆
