Alright, the truck is getting a little fixing up for the spring. New cab mounts all around, new stainless steel fuel lines from the dual tanks to the pump, a few electrical fixes and a tune up. Because of this I haven’t been on very much. I noticed my karma went from 20 to 14 in the meantime…I wasn’t even here lol must be something I said before I started working on the truck. In any case, the truck will be on the lift for the next week or so and I will take some pictures on monday and post them in this thread.

I’ve seen the numbers but I don’t even know what ‘karma” is or why I should possess any. I assume it is explained on the site here somewhere.

On another forum a tool was introduced that was going to rate how much you added to the discussion. There was a complex formula that would rate you. Nobody paid any attention to it and eventually it was dropped.

Then they introduced “My garage”, a place where you could tell all about your shop and cars. We called that “Please come rob me”. It didn’t get used.

Yes please post anything from that job, I’m really interested.

Barney, the karma rating here is a arbitrary thing that relies completely on the random user seeing that it’s there, interpreting it for what it is, and then just clicking a plus or minus based on a judgment call they make with no frame of reference.

Another tech on here, PithyRadish, has a negative karma rating which I’ve tried to find the cause of because I don’t see it personally. He’s new and helpful and I haven’t found anything he said that warrants a reason to say he’s “bad”, I like him. I tried to increase his karma more than once and it told me I had to wait six hours before I could raise it a second time. Obviously someone must stay emotional about something for a long time to singlehandedly make a major karma effect.

Yeah so, please post some pics or video of working on your truck. I’ve only seen one pic post of yours with a few various pics of it, but I’m really into seeing the innards if ya know what I mean.

Have been putting it off. Will be cutting out and welding in a new panel.

The second pic is the lines, in the box are stainless steel main line from, selector valve to pump, main crossover between tanks, return line to valve from pump, and return crossover.

Your gonna laugh at the 41 year old cab mounts, ill be sure to take a pic of them on Monday as well as some other good stuff.

As for the Karma, I think I may have upset someone with one of my more “opinionated comments” looking back on either SO or the Prius thread. You can’t please everyone B)

I’m going to go find PithyRadish and give him some karma. 🙂

I don’t know how he went from positive to negative so fast. Someone must be upset with a few of us. My problem with it is that people with negative Karma tend to get banned…which makes sense when they have “earned” that Neg Karma…but it seems like the system is quite easy to abuse if one has a grudge. Pilthy has been a good member since he joined, I see no reason why he got “De-Karmad”

Must’ve been the Prius and Toyota threads 😉 By the way, thanks for helping my negative karma guys, I really would hate to get banned or something of that nature.

New supports all around. I decided to go all out and replace the 41 year old supports as well. They were in rough shape on both sides. So I’ve decided to do floors on both sides(only the front portion, as you see in this picture I have already cut them out), floor supports and cab supports.

Here we have the rear cab mounts, notice how disintegrated this on is:

And one of the front cab mounts:

And here is one of the rear bushings, notice the original 70s GM part number:
