battery draining

ok i have 2008 hyundai elantra 4dr automatic 2.0L gls…normally i leave the head lights on so that whether day or night my headlights are on and they would shut off when i turn the car off remove the key and exit…but recently i was unable to start my car in the morning and later that day a friend told me my lights were on during the night…so now learning from that i turn my lights off no matter what…ok so now the other day it was raining and had my wipers on and did not shut them off before turning off the car and exiting..same outcome my battery was drained again…the wipers were not turning so in my eyes they were not pulling any electricity…in short if i do not manually turn off the switch to my head lights or wipers my battery will drain…any suggestions on what i should do or first place i should look so that these function perform normally…ive gotten in the habit of shutting everything off i just dont want to wake up late for work one day and have a big OOPS! lol thanx in advance

if you have a multi-meter you can do a parasitic test. there’s a video in the video section

i did see that video…at the point when im doing the test should i leave my headlights and the wipers in the on position?

everything off to start with. make sure there is not some other drain.

i will definitely be trying it…also is it a coincidence that both these switches are affecting the battery or is more likely that its one problem affecting both switches

well the daytime running can stay on if the relay has welded itself on, had that before. the wipers is puzzling though
