I own a 2005 Ford Taurus. The battery in the Taurus drains in a few days while sitting. I saw the video on parasitic drains and conducted the test on the Taurus. I had a reading of 0.66. I went thru the procedure as Eric mentioned on the video pulling out one fuse at a time. When I pulled one of the fuses, the reading dropped to 0.001. I reinserted the fuse and got a reading of 0.66. I again pulled the fuse and the reading dropped again to 0.001. I assume that the problem is in this fuse. I looked up the fuse and it is attached to “hazard lites, cluster power, ICP and EATC. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem myself? How do I go about checking it. ? I know what the hazard lites are and they work fine, but I don’t know what EATC or ICP mean. I assume cluster power refers to the lites or gauges on the cluster panel. Is this something I can fix myself or do I need to take it to a professional for repair.

If its .66 mv I’m not sure thats enough of a drain.
what you could do is pull the fuse overnight and see
if the battery is dead. If it is dead then battery/
charging issue. Have the battery and alternator load
tested at an auto part store.

I didn’t have the battery tested from outside sources, but I charged the battery for an hour and then used a basic load testing battery device (tester). After “loading” the battery, The device indicated the battery was good. The battery, when fully charged will drain in about 4-5 days just sitting there. I will recharge the battery and remove the fuse and see what that does. Before I do that, I will put the multimeter on the battery again and get another reading… I will post the results and see what you think…thank-you for your help

            DO A “VOLTAGE DROP TEST”

That fuse has stuff on it that is kept active for about 45 minutes after car off and door shut. See if after 45 minutes the voltage draw goes away.

              How old is the battery?

It’s been a while since I measured the standby drain on my 2003 Accord Coupe I4M5.

If memory serve it kind of pulses between 40 and 70 milliAmps as the alarm system pulses.

0.66 Amps is 660 mA which seems very high.

Good advice to measure it after a period of time.
