Battery Cable Status?

I’ve been having random No Crank No Start. Whenever the No Crank No Start occurs, I lose power. As soon as I turn the key to start, all the power is gone. No lights on the dash, no interior lights, it was like the battery was stone dead. To fix the problem, I remove the negative terminal and reseat it and the car starts. But when that method doesn’t work, I remove the negative and the positive and the car starts.
Today, the problem happened. I re-seat the negative, no start. I go to re-seat the positive and I notice this.

Seeing that, I tried to stuff the wires into the terminal the best I can so I can get home and the car starts, yay! My question to you is this, did I find the source of my problem or am I looking at a disaster waiting to happen?

Ummm that connection looks pretty dodgy.
If the other looks anything like it, I think you need to seriously consider at the very least, cutting back the tarnished/corroded wiring and install new terminals.
Or better replace the cables all together

It turns out that the wire that was hanging outside the terminal in the picture fell off when I touched the following morning because the No Crank No Start had occurred. So I took a wire brush and gave it a good cleaning.

I remove as much crude as possible to get it as shiny as you see in the picture above. Too bad I didn’t take any pictures of the progress because I had go to work and I was press for time. I stuffed the wires into the terminal and secured it tightly. Fast forward to today, it starts first time every time.

might want to consider putting some dilectric grease on that connection. Also although those terminals have been around for years and years they are usually listed as “test” terminals and i guess that means they arent designed to be installed long term
