I have a 1994 Chrysler LHS, and I was wondering how can I tell if my tie rod ends are going bad? whenever I steer from a slow speed I can kinda hear something like a “knocking” noise coming from the front end.

        See if this helps:

That’ll help isolate the noise and help pin down if it’s a tie-rod, ball joint, or cv. 🙂

The way I usually check Tie Rod ends is to get a helper, and have them wiggle the steering wheel back and forth just a bit, while I get my self in a position where I can visually watch the rod end. If you see the rod end move in relation to the steering knuckle, you notice that when the rod end moves, it takes a bit bit before the steering knuckle starts moving with it then you have a bad rod end.
