My new OBD 2 Scanner works fine in my Ford but does not come on at all in my Honda. I remember when we had to have roadside service done, the technician had troubles with it, so I’m thinking it’s died. Is my in car j1962 16-pin connector repairable/replaceable? If so, any how to’s on that appreciated.

Go to an auto part store and let them plug in to see if theres works. Other wise
there may be a fuse for the port. Usually these are never a problem.

What year Honda? If it’s pre 1996 it won’t work. You’ll have to use this method.

Thank you both, we’re still on its diagnosis if bad. It’s a 2003 CRV. The auto place couldn’t get a reading on it either, we’re searching for a dead fuse possibility. Weather’s bad right now, so beyond the quick check, not much more done right now. The fuses to pull in the video to reset the light (which is on, btw), would they be the same? The check engine and abs lights are both on.

Wow, yes, that may be very helpful…

“#16 should go to the fuse block at fuse #9. The radio is powered from the same fuse but there is a connector in the underdash fuse block that connects the DLC and the radio to fuse 9”

The roadside service was having the key locked up in the car and having a tech come to the rescue… he was forever with it, we also had hiim make a spare, but long story short, when we left we had no radio from that5 point onward.

Have the new camshaft position sensor in, the code changed to adding “p” on the end P0303 P, anything significant about the new “P”?

I had the same problem with my F150. I bought a brand new scan tool and it would not work. Many years before i was in a collision. The airbag never deployed. To make a long story short there is a fuse in the airbag module that blows which feed the diagnostics connector.. 300 bucks for module and since airbag did not deploy first time i had no confidence in it working again or replacing it. What i did is find the wire on the diagnostic plug that supplies 12v to tester. I ran 12v from battery to that pin. Diag tool now works. I also made it a quick disconnect for whatever reason over a course of weeks it will drain car battery unless you drive it eveyday then its not a problem. so when not using diagnostic tool; unplug the wire. This works on my 1996 f150 been using it that way for 8 years. The fuse in the airbag module can not be replaced and I didnt even try. So I improvised. Truck has quite a few mods on it. Once again this worked for me don’t do this unless you can read a wiring diagram or know someone who can.
