Bad ECU/ECM symptom?

I’ve got a 1995 Acura Integra and I was doing some diagnosing on a couple of my sensors. I disconnected my ECT sensor and noticed that the check engine light didn’t come on like it is suppose to, to let me know it is disconnected. But I do believe the sensor works fine after finding out later. I also tested my MAP sensor, I unplugged and didn’t see a check engine light on either. I ran the engine and unplugged the MAP connector to see how the engine reacted. The engine died, so I know the MAP sensor was working correctly. Since the Check Engine Light never came on either time I pulled the sensors, could this mean the ECU/ECM has a fault in it or is going bad?

Just disconnecting something may not throw a code immediately. Sometimes there needs to be a time allotted and/or another parameter met before the code is set… Also it may be a two trip code….

If you checked pending codes with a scanner, you may have seen it come up there…

Well, it’s a 1995, so there is no OBDII or scanning. There is shorting a connector out with a paper clip and checking the codes through CEL flashes. Haha. There are none. I’m just trying figure out the lack of acceleration I’m getting sometimes. It bogs a bit. Freshly rebuilt engine too. It runes great, just accelerates a little sluggish at times.
