Hey Guys,
I had to take off the worst ever brake drum, and after heating & beating over & over I finally got the stupid thing off, but had to bend the dust/splash shield. I was then able to put pressure on the drum while heating and it popped off.
I could think of 100 ways to do it over 😳 , but it’s to late now. My problem is no one sells the freaking things anymore, and junk yards say they don’t sell them because they are usually to rusted.
I called my local pick & pull and they don’t allow you to bring freaking jack stands that are required to take the axle cover off, clip & pin to pull the shaft out to get to it.
So I think my only option is to pray, and bend this puppy back. Images below. The actual backing plate is not bad, it just needs straightened out, with a little love.
I was thinking about something like JB weld to hold the splash shield to the backing plate again.
Thoughts?
