Thanks for reading this. My vehicle is a 2006 toyota corolla. my Automatic transmission will not move in ANY gears (06 Automatic). I was leaving a stop sign and the transmission just made a loud grinding noise and just not move… when i push the car, i can hear clicking.

      Things I’ve checked:
      Fluid was clean and full.
      CV axle is solid.
      no smell from the transmission.
Park and Neutral works. other gears grind and no movement.

What has stumped me is that even if it is the CV axle that has gone out, what are the possibilities that the other side has as well? Because neither side moved. I just hope the damage isn’t

You might have broken a cv axle or stripped the spline.
you going to have to take the wheels and cv boots off and check everything.

If one cv axle let’s go, the differential will prevent the other side from turning so your problem could be just one axle.

Yea I agree I wouldn’t be so quick to condemn the transmission to me it sounds like a problem with final drive either a broken CV joint or splines that are stripped inside the trans. If you had an axle serviced or replaced recently it mighty not have been fully seated in the trans and popped out. Because of the design of the differential power always goes to the wheel with the least traction so if just one side lets go it won’t move in any gear and make a grinding noise as you describe.

Yea. I havent ruled out the transmission. I would love to. I was thinking it was the splines too because the noise was pretty loud and aggressive from inside the car. I’ve also noticed that when I took the outboard side out, the shaft slides in and out the inboard, the boot didnt extend or retract and grease was coming out of it where the shaft exits.

That’s quite an acute angle for a CV Axle!

My girlfriends Mazda 6 snapped a shaft right inside the boot at the slide bearings…..looked just like that ….same symptoms too.

Yep that’ll do it. You might want to replace that axle and recheck for the symptom. I say replace because if you heard a grinding noise it’s probably damaged. Good luck and keep us posted.

we shouldn’t ignore the daily security in our life such as the GPS tracking or other method used by someone to steal our privacy. Therefore a gps jammer for sale with a good function of cutting off cell phone signals as well as other frequency bands signals can help to create the security system to protect us. And then we can enjoy the quiet and peaceful environment.
