On another forum I frequent it is common for people to switch from a six speed manual to a five speed manual. The five speed transmission is far more robust. They both use the same clutch and clutch parts. Well, one young man who had just completed the swap posted a complete list of needed parts. It was surprising long.

One young man on the same above forum thinks it is fun to take Honda models that were never built as AWD vehicles and convert them to AWD. I don’t know how you get to possess such mechanical ability at such a young age (or any age). But for the average bloke like me, if Honda makes the car with a manual transmission and I want a manual, I’ll just trade cars.

It really depends on your skill level. There is a lot of parts to acquire to do one and some wiring you need to do. Also it might be easier to remove the engine and do it out of the car and would let you have a better look at what you need to do to run the line to the salve cylinder seeing you need to run it behind some of the brake lines and around the corner under the battery tray. Also then you need to deal with the holes that the auto uses and the manual does not and you are better off cutting the floor out of a donor car to cover the holes and provide the sealing place for the upper dust boot. The wiring would take care of the reverse lights, the lock servo in the ignition key and the clutch interlock circuit. IE if you are really not good with cars or just starting with them this is not a starter swap. I would get some experience with you before attempting. Also you are looking at probably $800-1000 in parts. A good place to learn how everything is put together is go to the junk yard and find a 92-00 civic or integra and look at how things are router there and how things look compared to your car.
