My fluid is getting kind of dirty, so its time for a change, does anyone know what type of fluid goes into these? Would you recommend royal purple synthetic? I do beat on it kind of hard so I would like to put the best possible fluid I can into it. Also, do Toyotas have a filter or is it just a drain and fill?

Your vehicle uses Toyota T-IV fluid. It has a non-serviceable filter, meaning it is not meant to be replaced as a maintenance item. Royal Purple Max ATF is said to be compatible with T-IV, but my recommendation is to use the proper (OEM) fluid. Transmissions are expensive to repair/replace.
