What about some content on inspecting a vehicle before repair work is done to ensure it’s actually safe. I understand that most US states don’t have any sort of inspection process for safety related elements and living somewhere with a system, not that it’s a perfect system, there is a minimum threshold . At least when the title transfers outside of immediate family. Anyway, it scares me to think that people may be investing significant amounts of time and/or money into a vehicle that might not be inherently safe.
While some items that would fail most inspections are simple, like a burnt out light, others almost always mean impending doom for the car. Like rusted rocker panels. Or seatbelt pre-tensioners that aren’t working properly.
Kind of along the lines of, your suspension is toast, make sure your brakes aren’t about to fall apart before you spend hundreds of dollars on an unrelated repair.
I did a couple of quick searches and yielded no results. Maybe a dedicated video or guide. Maybe just a video to drive it home. Just throwing it out there.
