Assembly lube vs. Engine oil

I’ve been building engines for years now and was wondering for all you other Techs out there, Do you use engine oil weight you use for the engine or Assembly lube? I’ve always use assembly lube and I’m wondering if its a waste of money to use that over the oil you’ll use well running the engine. Thanks for the input and I would like to hear from you guys soon.

I always use assembly lube on everything accept piston rings. It contains high levels of zinc and other extreme pressure additives that oils today don’t contain. I use whatever oil I have on hand on piston rings.
