So my fuel line has started leaking and needs to be replaced.

Saw a YouTube video of someone who used this eBay kit to replace his.

I’m curious how well it works long term or any feedback from anyone who may have used it or something similar.

Apparently it’s cut to length and has the same oem style fittings for the main line making it all plug and play

If you could post the video I can judge its function better.

In all honesty it looks like a quality repair. Its fine to use zip ties. I do have two suggestions.
1st use fuel injection clamps instead of the worm drive clamp. The fi clamp does not tear into
the hose. 2nd Instead of the zip ties use clamps with a small self tapping screw.

Does it matter the protective cover wasn’t used in that video? I’d want to reuse mine but don’t know if I’d be able to tuck everything in there

Also do this fittings require any special tools or? I’m not familiar with anything fuel related

If the cover fits great but not necessary. Basic tools required. If you do the clamps a cordless drill
or electric drill would be needed to drive the 1/4” screws in.

Could you find it cheaper? What your paying for is the steel braided line set up for most of the money.
Its pricey but not unreasonable if you look at the time it saves with having everything.

I’m curious why it’s rubber and steel braided? Is that what newer cars use or just easier to bypass the oem hard lines?

Its easier to bypass the old stuff. The steel braided went to the fuel filter which carries the
pumps fuel pressure. This line needs the reinforcement of the steel braided line. The rubber
is the return line way less pressure. Newer cars use hard lines up to the engine then transition
to some line with a quick connect fitting.
