I got this 600 lb engine that is constantly getting in the way while working and I am getting tired of hosting up and relocating.

Don’t think I would build one out of wood. if you have a harbor freight tools near you , you can pick up an engine stand for about 50.00. or go to amazon and search ” engine cradle ” they run about 20.00 not including tax-shipping. I like the engine cradle because it sits lower is more stable then a motor stand.

The last engine i had out of a vehicle in my own garage was a 302 from a Ford. I just purchased a engine stand to work on it, plus it made it easier to move it around,

I knocked over my dad’s engine stand when I was about 5. Couldn’t sit down for a while after he found out.

I built a mini one as a welding class project in high school. I would imagine you could find some decent scrap metal for perhaps 15-25 bucks and a set of Craftsman Roll away casters for oh, IDK, perhaps an additional $10? If you would go this route, I would build it a bit lower than the normal. 15-25 bucks in steel could potentially be some junk “Pot-Metal”.
